Palladium Robotech Sourcebooks updates

UPDATE: Robotech® New Generation Sourcebook. My editing and writing for Robotech® New Generation™ is done. Wayne is doing his edit of the final quarter of the book. The rest has been submitted to Harmony Gold for review and approval. I have assigned some of the artwork and will be assigning more. I love this book and hope final approval from Harmony Gold is quick and easy. An October release is looking solid.

We received the finished cover art from Apollo Okamura this afternoon. It looks pretty sweet. This book is coming together nicely.

UPDATE: Robotech® Genesis Pits Sourcebook. I’m really shooting for a December, 2011 release with the Genesis Pits sourcebook. Irvin has been working on it for a while now and it is coming along nicely.

UPDATE: Robotech® Marines Sourcebook. I want to see this book out early in 2012.

9/11 Ten Years Later

On Tuesday, Sep. 11, 2001, tragedy strikes America as four planes all crashed on three separate areas, NYC's World Trade Center towers, D.C.'s Pentagon, and a rural area in western Pennsylvania.

Five years ago, I made two separate versions of 9/11: Five Years Later by using both Japanese and English versions of Fire Bomber's Light the Light, and posted them on YouTube.

Robotech: New Generation Sourcebook is now 100% Complete

...And will be shipped to retailers in October.
UPDATE: Robotech® New Generation™ Sourcebook. My work on the book is done. Alex and Wayne are editing the last few sections before they are sent to Harmony Gold for final approval. Cover by Apollo Okamura should be finished any day now. I expect to be assigning artwork this weekend. If approvals by Harmony Gold are quick, the book should hit its October release date without difficulty. And remember, due to popular demand, Robotech® New Generation™ will be in the 8 ½ x 11 format, NOT manga-sized. NO more manga size. We’ve decided to stop doing manga-sized Robotech® books. Starting with the Robotech® New Generation™ Sourcebook, all future Robotech® supplements will be our usual 8½ x 11 size and format. If and when we sell out of the existing manga-sized books, we will reprint them in the larger, standard format.

Message to Doug Bendo

Dear Doug Bendo,

I really do not appreciate your bad-mouthing CaptianJLS on your two-part podcast related to the forthcoming Robotech 17-boxed set, especially mentioning mental retardation which really grinds my gears. What you are is a big-time jerk who spews rants for a course of two hours on your podcasts, and for that shame on you.

Signed,
Adm Lisa Hayes-Hunter

Curious about the SDF-2's fate (NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE)

There's a 13 page essay on how Harmony Gold worked around a "phantom ship" that's known as the SDF-2.

BTW, this is an interesting read.

Macross II producer killed during 3/11 Japanese quake

Macross II producer killed during 3/11 Japanese quake

ANN confirmed with Jan Scott Frazier, a close friend of the deceased, and other anime industry members that producer and animator Hiroshi Kakoi passed away during the March 11 earthquake (Tōhoku Chihō Taiheiyō-oki Jishin) and tsunami. Kakoi's wife Kumiko survived the disaster.

Among other projects, Kakoi was a producer on The Super Dimension Fortress Macross II: Lovers, Again and Moldiver original video anime series. He also worked as a key animator at the anime studio Artland on the first Macross series (from the first episode onward) and on the 1980 version of Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom). He served as a production manager at Artland and the anime studio AIC.

Love Song for New Generation's Rook and Rand

The song, In My Heart, performed unplugged by Michael Bradley. It was also performed by Three Dog Night for the 1986 film, Robotech The Movie: The Untold Story, and can now be found on both the 10th and 25th anniversary Cds.
