Denied?!

Michael Bradley, the singer-songwriter-composer who provided Yellow Dancer's singing voice on Robotech's New Generation arc, has been denied the right to use the Robotech name, thanks in part to Harmony Gold's lawyers.

This link will explain everything: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=64810710&blogID=169869044

Talk about rotten timing. :(

Bad news, pilgrims

According to The (unofficial) Robotech Reporter, FUNimation's going to delay the DVD release of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. When will they finally release the DVD? It might be sometime between December, 2006 and early 2007, from my estimated guess.

I know you Robotech fans are dissapointed by the news of the DVD's delay, but, even though I live in Savannah, GA, I have no idea when the theatrical release of said film will be playing here in the Coastal Empire. If it does play here, then I hope that the Regal 10 (an art house theater) will play it because I don't want to bum a ride to either Hilton Head Island, SC or Jessup, GA to see Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles there.

On the bright side, I do recall seeing an anime film back in San Antonio called Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust at the Fiesta 16 in December, 2001. So, maybe Harmony Gold shouldn't overlook small towns such as Savannah, GA when it comes to distributing Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles in theaters.

Well, here's hoping.

Ain't It Cool News has published a review of the film, but it contains spoilers, so, if you want to wait until the film comes out, don't read it. If you're impaitent and want to know, then read on.

Imagine: Thanksgiving 2006

Your stomach's full of Thanksgiving dinner, including your favorite pies that you couldn't wait to eat since you got up that morning, you're watching a football game and hoping that the Dallas Cowboys (or whichever team that you're rooting for) would pull out of that damn slump since the season started, but then you got bored of hearing your uncle's neverending stories of his days as a motorcycle cop. So, you've decided to head to your room (or guest room if you're visiting) and pop in a DVD into your player. The DVD is Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles and it just came out on Nov. 21st, 2006.

That's right, folks. FUNimation will release Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles on Nov. 21st and just in time for the holiday season. The Dallas, TX-based company who shot to fame with their Dragonball Z dubs back in the 90's are going to release this 88-minute movie, and it's a perfect stocking stuffer.

So, do yourself a favor and buy Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles when it comes out. Or, and make sure you ask your uncle to tell the story of how a bumblebee got into his helmet unexpectedly. :D

THE PUZZLE BROTHERS

THE PUZZLE BROTHERS

Why did I add that link? I know it has nothing to do with Robotech, but I thought that I want to promote a blog that's been created by two talented puzzle fans, Dave and Robair Mackey, in which I had the pleasure of meeting them earlier this year.

At Long Last

Dallas, TX-based Funimation have acquired the rights to distribute Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles movie after a year of us Robotech fans being on pins and needles. The film not only brought back familiar RT voice actors such as Tony Oliver (Rick Hunter), Greg Snegoff (Scott Bernard) and Richard Epcar (Vince Grant) but includes Hollywood's best such as Mark Hamill (Star Wars, Batman: The Animated Series, Wing Commander) as Commander Taylor and Chase Masterson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as Janice.

I hope that the film would come out before the end of the year.
